SATELLIKE - artistic sceneries of Asia, created with ink on a piece of paper.

This project was initiated by a job I did for the National Palace Museum of Taipeh. The museum ran an exhibition on culture treasures of the history of Taiwan in 2020. I was hired to create fluid and abstract interpretations of some iconic items, a collection of several drawings and artworks. I decided to develop my existing methods further, stepping away from stock paints and ink and creating most of the paints myself. One important aspect was to implement natural colors and realistic earth tones to the color palette and focus more on details than on a commercial look with punchy color and contrast.
Over a period of 4 months, I experimented with natural substances like sand, stone powder and historic pigments. Some of these supplies are rare and expensive, for example jade and malachite powder.

On Set: https://vimeo.com/507198210

What you see in SATELLIKE are very long shots of watery ink in motion on several coats of half dried paint. Drying the paint leads to organic structures which can be brought to life again with water, ink and sour flow release mediums. The results look different from my usual approach, way more realistic and less otherworldly. I was excited about the aesthetics of the images and decided to do an individual piece. Although this is the final result for now, it feels more like I’m at the very beginning.

Thanks for watching.
Mark Matthews has the eye of an artist when he builds his trails. He finds a picturesque landscape, identifies a line that complements his riding style, and spends hours in the forest, turning his vision into a creative masterpiece that translates beautifully to the screen. His newest line and the surrounding trail network provided the perfect setting to showcase speed and style against the backdrop of a lush Pacific Northwest forest. Complemented by the raw sounds of Mark’s bike on the trail we hope you enjoy ‘Changing Seasons.’
Francesco and Giorgio, aka Montanus, decided to dedicate a video-tribute to the land where
they were born and still live, celebrating the magnificent mountains where their desire to
explore the wilderness has grown.
‘Home Wild Home’ is the latest film by Montanus, but it doesn’t tell of an expedition in a remote land
like those they made in Patagonia and Iceland. Montanus duo created a sort of tribute in honor of their
own land, filming the backyard trails that link their hometown L’Aquila, in central Italy, with the
massif of Gran Sasso d’Italia, where highest peaks of Apennine mountains are located. In this mountain
enviromental they started appreciating wilderness and developing the outdoor skills that has allowed
them to travel and explore remote and wild lands. ‘Home Wild Home’ is more than a bikepacking film,
it’s a sign of gratitude to their own land and an encouragement to the recovery of L’Aquila, hit by a
devastating earthquake 10 years ago.
In the world of specialty coffees, there is nothing more important than the sensory experience it needs to perform on our palate and nose. Currently, Brazilian coffee producers are facing catastrophic climate change that consistently has something to do with the deforestation that Jair Bolsonaro's government is favoring in the country. It ravages local microorganisms as well as flora and fauna, which endangers not only the future of coffee, but also the future of Brazil's syntropical agroforestry.
Alzheimer's disease can leave patients and their families feeling lost with their worlds turned upside down. The charity France Alzheimer work to make sure that those living with the disease know they always have somewhere to turn.
Every year in May, the Centifolia rose blooms in Grasse, France. It is the rarest, most fragrant rose in the world and can only be harvested by hand, at dawn, within a four-hour window. Rose pickers from neighboring towns arrive every May at rose fields which have been cultivated by the family for six generations. In this short doc, the harvesters reflect on their relationship to the rose and the personal meaning of this fleeting bloom.
