Run Forever is a digital media artwork visualising the vision of Hyundai Motor’s sustainable design and green energy for a clean mobility society. In Run Forever, the runner is at one with nature, transforming from water, to hydrogen and oxygen, to pure energy, before returning to nature in the form of plants. Inspired by the water cycle, Hyundai Motor’s clean hydrogen fuel process is renewable, generating infinite energy for our runner to ‘run forever’.

Run Forever launches the new brand space Hyundai Motorstudio Busan. The Motorstudio is a hub for design, exploring the power of design across all disciplines. Experiences in the Motorstudio are guided by the theme ‘Design to Live by’, reflecting how great design enriches and reinvents our everyday lives.

Run Forever features on the Creative Wall at Hyundai Motorstudio Busan. The digital artwork is among a variety of arts and cultural exhibits in the space that allow visitors to experience the vision of the Hyundai Motor brand.

The five-story Hyundai Motorstudio Busan is based in F1963, a cultural complex in the former Kiswire Suyeong wire rope factory designed by renowned architect Choi Wook. Universal Everything and Hyundai Motor have previously collaborated on a kinetic display experience and large-scale video artwork for the Hyundai Motorstudio in Goyang.

Run Forever also features in Hyundai Motor’s commercial TV campaign about clean energy.
NIHON is a personal work of mine that explores the uncanny vertigo I enter when I am pulled into Japan. It’s my closest attempt at expressing to others what I experience as a foreigner traveling through its many levels of stimulus.
SATELLIKE - artistic sceneries of Asia, created with ink on a piece of paper.

This project was initiated by a job I did for the National Palace Museum of Taipeh. The museum ran an exhibition on culture treasures of the history of Taiwan in 2020. I was hired to create fluid and abstract interpretations of some iconic items, a collection of several drawings and artworks. I decided to develop my existing methods further, stepping away from stock paints and ink and creating most of the paints myself. One important aspect was to implement natural colors and realistic earth tones to the color palette and focus more on details than on a commercial look with punchy color and contrast.
Over a period of 4 months, I experimented with natural substances like sand, stone powder and historic pigments. Some of these supplies are rare and expensive, for example jade and malachite powder.

On Set: https://vimeo.com/507198210

What you see in SATELLIKE are very long shots of watery ink in motion on several coats of half dried paint. Drying the paint leads to organic structures which can be brought to life again with water, ink and sour flow release mediums. The results look different from my usual approach, way more realistic and less otherworldly. I was excited about the aesthetics of the images and decided to do an individual piece. Although this is the final result for now, it feels more like I’m at the very beginning.

Thanks for watching.
Introducing Ralph, the new spokes-bunny of the global campaign to ban animal testing for cosmetics. #SaveRalph is a powerful stop-motion animation short film produced by Humane Society International, featuring an all-star multinational cast including Taika Waititi, Ricky Gervais, Zac Efron, Olivia Munn, Pom Klementieff, Rodrigo Santoro, Tricia Helfer and more. https://hsi.global/SaveRalph

Save Ralph is a powerful stop-motion animation short film featuring Oscar winner Taika Waititi as the voice of Ralph, who is being interviewed for a documentary as he goes through his daily routine as a “tester” in a lab.

HSI’s #SaveRalph campaign tackles the cruelty of animal testing in an original and unexpected way—using the story of one bunny to shine a light on the plight of countless rabbits and other animals in laboratories around the world.

While Ralph is animated, the miseries he endures in the short film are far from made up. As Spencer Susser, the director of Save Ralph, says, “It's so important that Ralph feels real because he represents countless real animals who suffer every day.”

Susser, known for his film Hesher, is among a slate of powerhouse celebrities and influencers who collaborated with Humane Society International on the making of Save Ralph. In addition to Waititi as Ralph and Gervais as the interviewer, the film has Zac Efron as Bobby, Olivia Munn as Marshmallow, Pom Klementieff as Cinnamon and Tricia Helfer as Cottonballs.

Producer Jeff Vespa (Voices of Parkland) teamed up with the Arch Model studio of puppet maker supreme Andy Gent (Isle of Dogs, The Grand Budapest Hotel) on the production. https://hsi.global/SaveRalph
A few weeks back I had the chance to visit Pyongyang and attend the Mass Games there. This show is by far the most incredible and amazing performance I have ever laid my eyes on. Watch this 4 minute film and you will know why. Only a communist country can pull something like this off I guess. However, I do not want to get involved in politics here, so please do your own research.

Many thanks to Simon Cockerell and Jessica Mader from Koryo Tours ( https://koryogroup.com ) and Ri So Hyang, Kim Sun Mi, Lee Song Hyok, Kim Yong Un from KITC for arranging permissions and making this project possible.
By the way: I did not get paid to shoot this film!

Mass Games can basically be described as a synchronized socialist-realist spectacular, featuring over 100,000 participants in a 90-minute display of gymnastics, dance, acrobatics, and dramatic performance, accompanied by music and other effects, all wrapped in a highly politicized package. Students practiced every day from January onwards. The 90 minute performance is held every evening at 7pm and features the 'largest picture in the world' a giant mosaic of individual students each holding a book whose pages links with their neighbours’ to make up one gigantic scene. When the students turn the pages the scene or individual elements of the scene change, up to 170 pages make up one book.
In August 2007, the Mass Games were recognised by Guinness World Records as the largest gymnastic display with 100,090 participants at the May Day Stadium in Pyongyang. (Source Wikipedia)
