KidSuper AW22 “The MisAdventures of KidSuper” Paris Fashion Week

I often get told: “You need a TV Show.” Most of the time it is for a reality show, but I wanted to take a stab at trying to make my own show. Inspired by my own experience and the KidSuper AW22 collection I am proud to present the MisAdventures of KidSuper!!!

This was a such a crazy undertaking from trying to produce a whole collection, write a script, cast a group of friends, and bring this vision to life. This was an unrealistic deadline to start with and many people told me we should wait. But you only learn and grow from taking the leap, I have never done a film project where I have learned more. I now know exactly what I want for this series.

I can’t thank enough for all those involved. What a fucking cast of characters!!!!
As many of you know KidSuper has always lived in its own universe. I wanted to capture the hustle and bustle of starting you own brand as a TV Show.

Hopefully this leads to a tv show!!!!
In September 2017, I stepped up to the starting line of the Run Rabbit Run 100 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, alongside my friend Jayson Sime. The race is a 102.9-mile ultramarathon with 20,000 feet of elevation gain, which is no small feat for a couple of guys who don’t know what they’re doing.

Jayson had talked me into it, and if I were to be completely honest, I’d say we were there to test out his life philosophy, which is basically that you can do anything you dream up, as long as you put in the work and refuse to quit. That ethic has worked for him in almost every other area of life, despite growing up in poverty, one of six children with no father, and dyslexia.

In the six months leading up to the race, we figured since we weren’t naturally talented runners, the best thing we could do is work hard. So we ran 50- to 70-mile weeks all summer, and went through a full range of feelings: fear, regret, sadness, FOMO, hunger, thirst, exhaustion, pain, and joy. And gluttony, which is not a feeling, but what happens after you run 20 or more miles. The chart below is a representation of a training plan for a 100-mile race (but if you’re really looking to train for a 100-mile race, you should find a real training plan online or in a book).

How did the race go? You can watch our film, How to Run 100 Miles, to find out. No spoilers here.
Content warnings: conversion therapy, coercion, transphobia, psychological harm.

It’s been nearly five years since the UK Government first promised to ban so-called ‘conversion therapy’. Yet today, more than 1.5 million LGBTQ+ people in England and Wales remain at risk of these harmful attempts to ‘cure’ us.

We made this short film with Stonewall and 21* other LGBTQ+ organisations, based on the real experiences of conversion therapy survivors.

The UK Government recently moved to put a legislative ban back on the table. But after years of U-turns and broken promises, it's vital that the UK Government does not delay any further, and publishes a draft Bill and timetable for legislation as soon as possible.
Passion Pictures has produced a comedic but moving short, The New Normal, directed by Anna Mantzaris. Reflecting on the impact the last two years of the pandemic have had on ourselves and our personal relationships, the film takes Anna’s signature style to once again tackle a subject that could be difficult to broach.

The film features a young man, arriving home for Christmas with his family, awkwardly trying out various socially-distant greetings, before settling on a hug. It’s a moment we’ve either all experienced or can anticipate, how comfortable will we feel hugging our family, maybe for the first time in a long time? Even in todays open society, sharing personal feelings, anxieties and struggles can feel difficult to do, that’s why Passion has chosen to partner with the New Normal Charity for this years film.

The New Normal is a peer to peer support charity that connects people through their grief and mental health. Founded in 2018 they feel that the best form of therapy is to talk to others with similar life experiences. TNN run a diverse range of free, open and non-judgemental spaces to talk, and if you would prefer, to listen.
