Mark Matthews has the eye of an artist when he builds his trails. He finds a picturesque landscape, identifies a line that complements his riding style, and spends hours in the forest, turning his vision into a creative masterpiece that translates beautifully to the screen. His newest line and the surrounding trail network provided the perfect setting to showcase speed and style against the backdrop of a lush Pacific Northwest forest. Complemented by the raw sounds of Mark’s bike on the trail we hope you enjoy ‘Changing Seasons.’
This Christmas, Very.co.uk are celebrating the joy of giving in a film created by directors againstallodds. The film, part of a campaign by creative agency St Luke’s, follows the story of a woman as she travels home for Christmas accompanied by a flying heart. The heart flutters and grows as our heroine spreads joy with familiar Very-pink presents. As she spreads Christmas spirit her joy grows with every gift she gives.

Kyra and Constantin have crafted a beautiful story for Chinese retailer JD.com. Kyra and Constantin developed the existing character of Joy, the brand’s logo, into an adorable tale of a dog, a heron and a can of worms.

A co-production between Passion London and Melbourne the film is a simple story with no dialogue. Told through characterisation and animation the film makes use of facial expressions and nuanced gestures to bring the story to life.

The heartwarming film tells the tale in a way only animation can, with engaging characters and stunning scenery, simple but epic.

The second co-production between Passion and Stories for Swiss supermarket Migros. It features the return of the character Finn and shows his search for his long lost parents. Seamlessly blending live action with memorable CGI characters, animation directors Kyra & Constantin teamed up with live action directors Dorian Lebhertz and Daniel Titz to create Finn’s second story.
Directed by Kyra & Constantin 'First Christmas' is a love story told in beautiful animation with woodland characters spreading the message. We follow Henry the Hedgehog as he starts at a new school. His spikes make it hard for him to fit in but luckily he has a friend, Squirrel, looking out for him. The CGI animation has been given a truly unique tactile and fuzzy feel with Kyra & Constantin telling the story of love through the adorable characters.
Anna Mantzaris created a beautiful and melancholy Christmas film for Greenpeace France. Ending with a pledge to make our cities breathable, the film tells the story of a little girl who appears to be protecting her bear from the cold, but it turns out she's aware of an even more dangerous problem.

Mark Waring and Anna Mantzaris, have collaborated on a whimsical yet beautifully crafted short for Honest Tea. Encouraging people to look at the impact of the decisions we make every day, the film shows how small actions can add up to big, impactful, inspiring things. Animated in stop motion, the film captures the lush textures and tactile surfaces of a handmade world. To match the natural ethos of Honest, the sets and puppets are all made of natural things – felt, card, paper, wool, cotton and wood. The film places a Mom at the centre of the story and shows all of the big (and positive) impacts her choice of Honest Tea can have from reducing sugar in her children’s diet to the farmers getting a fair wage for the ingredients that Honest use.

For many of us, Christmas is undoubtedly the most wonderful time of the year. But for over half a million older people, the season is not something to look forward to. Re-engage, the only charity committed to tackling loneliness amongst over-75s, and Passion Animation Studios beautifully depict the silent suffering of those with no choice but to spend the season alone.

If you would like to support Re-engage, you can donate to their Big Give Christmas fundraiser, through which all donations will be doubled until noon, Tuesday 10th December, or visit their website www.reengage.org.uk.

A grandmother reads her grandchild a story called ‘The Gigantic Change’. The story of how, back in 2020, when the world was on the brink of collapse, humanity came together and worked harder than ever to save the environment.

Statistical correction:
It has come to light that the statistic referenced at 02:33 in the film is from a scientific paper which is now outdated. Instead of 'almost half of all species on Earth will be extinct’, a more accurate current estimate is 'up to 1 million more species could be extinct, due to human activity’.
With our Christmas film, we are supporting Ringcross Community Centre Foodbank
in Islington. We’ve chosen this charity, run by the Alexandra Wylie Tower Foundation, as they help more than 500 families every week, right on our doorstep.

Since March, the number of people in crisis coming to the food bank has risen exponentially and there can be as many as 1000 people a week reaching out for assistance. People who have never joined a food bank queue before are now finding they are unable to support their families.

This year it has become clear just how quickly circumstances can change and how much we rely on one another for support. At Christmas, although celebrations will be smaller, we hope to be able to help those who need it and encourage you, if you are able, to donate.
Passion Pictures has produced a comedic but moving short, The New Normal, directed by Anna Mantzaris. Reflecting on the impact the last two years of the pandemic have had on ourselves and our personal relationships, the film takes Anna’s signature style to once again tackle a subject that could be difficult to broach.

The film features a young man, arriving home for Christmas with his family, awkwardly trying out various socially-distant greetings, before settling on a hug. It’s a moment we’ve either all experienced or can anticipate, how comfortable will we feel hugging our family, maybe for the first time in a long time? Even in todays open society, sharing personal feelings, anxieties and struggles can feel difficult to do, that’s why Passion has chosen to partner with the New Normal Charity for this years film.

The New Normal is a peer to peer support charity that connects people through their grief and mental health. Founded in 2018 they feel that the best form of therapy is to talk to others with similar life experiences. TNN run a diverse range of free, open and non-judgemental spaces to talk, and if you would prefer, to listen.
